2nd Posting - Kapama Safari Lodge

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you back in the USA!
We had a lovely cloudy, cool day for our drive across the Highveld to the Escarpment and down to the Lowveld, where we arrived at Kapama Safari Lodge.
After a big lunch, we headed out on our first game drive. The bush has really greened up in the last two weeks and the weather was decidedly cooler, which made for very pleasant viewing!
Carol and Ellen admire their room at Kapama.

Right away our way is 'blocked' by zebras.

and on our first drive we discover a male and female lion...

The female gives the male a little swat! photo courtesy of Leora.

what luck to find a mother white rhino with her new baby!

Waterbuck and zebra spread across the savannah.
There were also a couple warthogs and a baby zebra in the mix.

A Marshall's Eagle flies from its perch. This is the largest eagle in the region.
In a sitting position it is over 2 1/2 feet tall and its talons can break a man's arm!
